The West Virginia Association of State Financial Aid Administrators (WVASAA) presents Surviving and Thriving in Financial Aid 2023-2024.  “The Only Way to Make Sense of Change is to Plunge Into It, Move With It, and Join the Dance.”  Well, this year is the year of many changes in Financial Aid.

We have asked institutions across the state to host this year’s counselor workshops to provide you with vital information to better assist your students and parents.  Yes, this is a year of big changes.  The FAFSA Simplification has caused a delay in releasing the FAFSA until December, date unknown.  The law requires it to be released by December 31, that is all we know for certain. Moving the Counselor Workshops to November will give us the opportunity to have the most up-to-date changes to share with you.  Major changes in the process, terminology, financial outcome – all counselors need to attend.

We are offering eight in-person workshops, and one virtual. Registration is now open. Choose which location and the date that suits you best. You will be sent a confirmation email one week prior to your chosen event, with the location, agenda, and other information you may need. If your school trades seniors every other year, it is imperative that all counselors at your school attend.  If you require documentation to justify for attendance, please contact me.
